MARGINSPAN INSIGHT

Construction Project Profitability Analysis

A practical way to evaluate margin movement, cost exposure, forecasting, change management, revenue conversion, and the evidence behind the current project story.

01

Reconcile the revenue position

Start with original contract value, current approved value, pending changes, credits, allowances, disputed scope, and earned work that has not yet entered the billing stream.

02

Reconcile the cost position

Review actual cost, commitments, pending obligations, labor and production trend, procurement, rework, and all known cost still required to finish.

03

Test the forecast

Ask whether final revenue and final cost assumptions match remaining scope, field reality, schedule conditions, and unresolved commercial exposure.

04

Explain margin movement

Separate timing differences from true performance loss, uncaptured revenue, forecast correction, and other conditions that require different management responses.

05

Turn analysis into ownership

Prioritize the material findings, identify what evidence supports them, quantify exposure where defensible, assign an owner, and define the next action.
